The reference 1675 GMT-Master was in production from 1959 to 1980, making it one of the longest-running Rolex models
This reference featured on the wrist of Marlon Brando in the 1979 movie ‘Apocalypse Now’
Many changes were applied to this fan-favourite reference over its 20-year life-cycle, including the introduction of matte dials, as we see here on this example from 1972
The 40mm stainless-steel case features the iconic “Pepsi” bezel with a 24-hour scale, which, when referenced against the GMT hand, allows the wearer to track two time zones simultaneously
The hour markers and hands are filled with tritium and have faded to a warm patina over time
Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the in-house calibre 1570 movement, which has Chronometer certification and a 48-hour power reserve
This example is paired with a Jubilee bracelet, giving it a slightly dressier aesthetic.
