Introduction

Following Omega’s crucial role in the safe return of the Apollo 13 crew, who relied on their Speedmasters to time their re-entry into Earth’s orbit, NASA awarded Omega with the prestigious Snoopy Award on October 5, 1970. This recognition was for Omega’s exceptional contribution to the success of what could have been a tragic mission. To celebrate this honor, Omega released the Blue Snoopy Speedmaster ref. 3578.51.00 in 2003.

The Blue Snoopy features Snoopy dressed in a blue astronaut suit, specifically the “Eyes on the Stars” patch, positioned within the running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. This special edition was limited to only 5,441 pieces, a number that represents the exact duration of the Apollo 13 mission: 142 hours, 54 minutes, and 41 seconds. As the first model in Omega’s Snoopy collection, the Blue Snoopy is revered for its understated elegance and iconic status.
